“The Voice” Returns

Following last season's coronavirus format shake-up, coaches and contestants will be together in the studio again...with new safety measures in place...when "The Voice" returns tonight. NBC's Mark Barger reports.

(NBC) — “The Voice” returns for a new season tonight.

After the coronavirus pandemic forced coaches and artists to work from home in the spring, they’ll be back in the studio together once again.

Safety measures will still be in place, however. The live audience has been replaced with a virtual one, and the coaches and singers will keep their distance from each other.

“You don’t feel the cameras as much and you don’t really feel, because the whole crew is so cut down, that it feels like it’s just us,” says returning judge Gwen Stefani.

“The Voice” premieres tonight at 8pm Eastern, followed by an all new “Weakest Link” at 10.
