The new West Kentucky Film Commission

SOUTH CENTRAL, KY.- Lights, camera, Kentucky—the state’s creative economy may soon get a major boost. The Kentucky Film Commission has announced the launch of the West Kentucky Film Commission. This initiative underscores the Commonwealth’s commitment to expanding its film industry and attracting new projects. Kentucky now offers the highest-paid film incentive in the nation, making it a top destination for filmmakers.

With the new regional commission, local tourism and businesses across the state are expected to benefit. Community Relations Coordinator Carrie Cavitt hopes the world will see Kentucky’s scenic beauty and vibrant communities as ideal filming locations. “People haven’t always seen Kentucky as a film powerhouse,” Cavitt said, “but it’s truly a destination.” As this multi-sector collaboration grows, its impact will reach far beyond the industry.
