The Medical Center at Bowling Green named a ‘Straight A’ hospital for safety standard
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Medical Center at Bowling Green has been recognized for its standard of patient safety.
The Medical Center at Bowling Green has received another “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a nonprofit working to uphold the standard of patient safety in hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers, according to Med Center Health.
Officials say this is the fifth straight cycle The Medical Center at Bowling Green has received its “A” safety rating.
This makes five straight “A” ratings at this location, officials say, making it a “Straight A” hospital.
“This continued validation from Leapfrog, the leading patient safety and quality organization, demonstrates the exemplary quality of care provided by The Medical Center at Bowling Green,” said Brian Lowery, director of quality and performance excellence at Med Center Health. “Achieving and sustaining this rating requires a determined and coordinated effort from the Medical Staff, Nursing, Ancillary, Support Services, Quality/Performance Excellence and Leadership teams. Processes in the organization that impact patient safety and quality of care are reviewed on an ongoing basis to reveal any opportunities for improvement. Med Center Health continually invests in people, technology, and material resources to advance patient safety and the quality of care for our patients.”
The Leapfrog Group assigns grades to hospitals based on over 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.
