The “Honor Rolls”, a veteran trip to state capitol
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Samuel Davies Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution is inviting Vietnam veterans to join a special bus trip to Frankfort on Saturday, Oct. 4, to visit the Kentucky Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
The trip comes as 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War. After several years without the event, organizers say it’s the perfect time to bring it back.
Brigadier General Dan Cherry, a Vietnam combat veteran who served in the skies over Southeast Asia, said the memorial holds deep meaning for him — and he believes it will for other Kentucky veterans who have never had the chance to see it in person.
Two charter buses, each seating more than 50 people, will depart from Bowling Green’s Aviation Heritage Park at 8 a.m. that Saturday. Veterans are welcome to bring a guest.
Those interested in reserving a spot can call the American Legion Post 23 at 270-303-1961.
