Tennessee man arrested on drug charges in Simpson County

FRANKLIN, Ky. – A Tennessee man is facing multiple charges in Simpson County after allegedly fleeing authorities on Wednesday.
The South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force says it arrived around 12:11 p.m. on the 100 block of Steele Road near Nashville Road in Franklin, Kentucky in reference to an active warrant for Kaleb Cowan, 41.
Authorities say they told Cowan he had an active warrant, and he fled from the scene.
The release states Cowan ran into the northbound lane of Nashville Road with traffic flowing before throwing objects into traffic.
A taser was deployed, and Cowan was taken into custody, according to the release.
Authorities say the objects in the road included two bags of suspected methamphetamine, a digital scale and cell phones.
Cowan is charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police (on foot), first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, drug paraphernalia – buy/possess and first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (greater than or equal to 2 grams of methamphetamine).
Cowan was transported to the Simpson County Detention Center.
