Teens Survive Terrifying Crash

Pennsylvania teens describe the terrifying moments after their SUV spun out of control, jumped a guardrail and landed upside down in a freezing creek. WPXI's Melanie Gillespie reports.

(WPXI/NBC News) — Two Pennsylvania teens are lucky to be alive after surviving a terrifying car crash Monday.

“The only thing I remember is sliding and hitting the guardrail. After that, everything is black,” Megan Button says.

In a split second, her drive to work turned into a nightmare. She was in the car with her boyfriend.

“It hydroplaned and caught traction and that’s what I feel like launched us into the guardrail. And then we went over the guardrail, flipped once and the car filled,” Drevin Fink, her boyfriend, recalls.

Button’s Jeep landed in an icy creek, upside down and rapidly began filling with water.

“I remember hitting the bottom of the water and then grabbing the tree and getting out,” Button says..

Two strangers stopped and helped pull the pair out of the fast flowing water about they floated about a tenth of a mile downstream.
