Teen creates program to donate books to children

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A teenager is helping children learn to enjoy reading by donating books to local schools.

Clay Wallace, an Eagle Scout and junior at Bowling Green High School has donated over 7,700 books to organizations and schools in the community.

Thursday, the 16-year-old took a load of over 500 books to T.C. Cherry Elementary in Bowling Green for children to have a wider variety of books to choose from.

After starting this program as an Eagle Scout project, Wallace has continued working to help children receive books for two and a half years.

Wallace expects to be starting his sixth book drive soon with the Bowling Green Independent School District.
