‘Teeing Off for Tots’: Toys for Tots hosts inaugural charity golf scramble in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – CrossWinds Golf Course was buzzing with activity Monday morning as golfers gathered for a good cause.

Toys for Tots held its first-ever charity golf scramble, dubbed Teeing Off for Tots, to raise funds for local children in need. Several teams hit the links, not to chase trophies, but to give back to the community.

“All the money raised goes straight to the kids,” said Darby Meredith, a youth ambassador with Toys for Tots. “It lets us get them things they might want or need. A lot of times we’ll go shopping for toys in age groups that are running low, or if there’s some sort of emergency situation, we’ll step in to support them.”

Last year, Toys for Tots distributed nearly 100,000 toys to over 31,000 children across the region—including 900 in Warren County alone.

Organizers hope the success of Monday’s event will help deliver even more joy to more kids this upcoming holiday season.
