Tank collapse at Barton 1792 distillery

BARDSTOWN, Ky. – Crews in Bardstown had to clean up a mess of mash Tuesday morning.

A tank at the Barton 1792 distillery, collapsed.

Responders reported one tank “failed,” another tank was damaged and a third one was punctured.

According to officials, 120-thousand gallons of mash leaked outside.

Firefighters say officials with the EPA were on site to assess the stream and any potential harm to it.

Last summer a bourbon warehouse collapsed at the same distillery.
