T.C. Cherry Elementary principal announces retirement

Throwback Thursday – T.c. Cherry Celebrates 70 Years

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The principal of T.C. Cherry Elementary in Bowling Green has announced his retirement.

In a statement posted by the district on Thursday, principal Kory Twyman stated he will retire by the end of the school year.

Twyman continued, stating, “Throughout my career, I’ve had the pleasure of working with many wonderful children and their families. I’ve been surrounded by colleagues focused on helping students and had tremendous support from the Central Office and Board of Education. The decision to retire is difficult, however, I’m excited for the next phase of my life.”

Twyman stated that Bowling Green Independent School District superintendent Gary Fields will be meeting with the SBDM council for plans to hire the next principal.

The position is set to be posted to the district’s website next Thursday, Feb. 1.

Fields’ goal is to have the new principal selected by spring break, according to the statement.

Twyman stated,” Again, thank you for your support and kindness. I am truly grateful for the opportunities the Bowling Green Independent School District and T.C. Cherry has given to me and my family, and I will cherish the memories we make together over the next few months.”
