Suspicious material at Glasgow store sends several to hospital
GLASGOW, Ky.- Several people were sent to the hospital Thursday night after a suspicious material was leaking from a barrel at a Glasgow store.
The incident occurred at the Rural King on S L Rogers Wells Blvd. around 6:45 p.m.
According to the Glasgow Fire Department, a customer bought the barrel and then returned it after noticing the material coming from it.
When the barrel was returned, some store employees complained of burning throats and eyes, resulting in a trip to the hospital.
After investigating, it was determined that the material was a flavoring food additive for human consumption.
Fire units were on the scene for four and a half hours.
