Surveying Sally’s aftermath
(NBC News) A day after Hurricane Sally’s landfall, the scars from the storm run deep across three states.
Survivors are clearing away and piling up what the storm left behind.
In some areas the water is still rising.
“We still have people trapped in high water out there at this late date,” Escambia County, Florida Sheriff David Morgan said Thursday.
Across Mississippi, Alabama and Florida more than half a million people are without power.
Meanwhile, Sally’s remnants are dumping heavy rain on Georgia and the Carolinas.
