Students temporarily relocate overnight after fire at Pearce Ford Tower

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A fire reportedly broke out Monday night on the 14th floor of Pearce Ford Tower on the campus of Western Kentucky University, university officials say.
Jace Lux, director of media relations and WKU spokesperson, shared the following statement:
“Last night, a grease fire began in a kitchen on the 14th floor of PFT. The hood suppression and sprinkler systems worked as intended to extinguish the fire. All rooms on the 14th floor had some degree of water on the floor, as well as some additional rooms on the 12th floor. In total, 30 students were asked to relocate for the night, and residents of those rooms were provided accommodations in Douglas Keen Hall. Residents are able to return to their rooms now.”
