Students receive Chromebooks in Bowling Green to prepare for future
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – AT&T and Human I-T partnered with the Bowling Green Area Chamber Foundation to give 25 laptops to students from Bowling Green/Warren County high schools who had participated in the Foundation’s SCK Launch program.
Five students from each school received the computers. The effort helps bridge the digital divide and prepares the young men and women for future success.
Benjamin Rodriguez, a senior at Bowling Green High School, said, “I was honestly shocked because 40 other students were competing for this Chromebook as well. So I’m very grateful that I was one of the five chosen to be here today and receive a free Chromebook.”
Angel Coronado, a senior at South Warren High School, shared plans for the future, saying, “I want to go to like the STEM field. So any new, like scientific breakthroughs or anything that could like further inspire me to like, know things which I wouldn’t have the opportunity without a device.”
Kylah Anderson, a senior at Greenwood High School, shared what having a laptop meant to her: “A new computer is something that I’ve been wanting because mine’s right now isn’t the best. It’s not in the best shape. I was trying to look for a new one. So I’m actually pretty grateful that I just got this new one.”
Carlos E. Sanchez, the president of AT&T Kentucky, was in Bowling Green to present the laptops and said the company was glad to provide the resources to those that need them most.
