State police investigating Wayne County murder

MONTICELLO, Ky. – Kentucky State Police is investigating a Wayne County murder.

KSP Post 11 says it was contacted by Wayne County 911 to assist the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office in an investigation involving a deceased man at a residence on Cart Bell Ridge Road on Sunday morning. KSP began a formal investigation.

KSP says the victim, Berry Rainer Rose III, 46, was found outside his home. Rose was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Wayne County Coroner’s Office.

During the investigation, KSP located and arrested Norman E. McGuire, 60, of Monticello, at a residence on Circle Road for his alleged involvement in the murder.

McGuire is charged with first-degree murder.

The investigation is ongoing.
