Spartans’ Hudson announces commitment to UK Softball

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Following a pair of collegiate commitment announcements earlier this week for the South Warren softball team, another big piece of the squad has made her future plans known on Thursday afternoon.

Star shortstop McLaine Hudson shared over social media that she has verbally committed to play at the University of Kentucky following her senior year in 2026.

In her sophomore season with the Spartans, she helped lead the team all the way to the state semifinals behind a .620 batting average, 22 home runs, and 67 RBIs, while also leading the state in hits with 93, breaking the all-time single season Kentucky record.

Now Hudson and her team will look to avenge last season’s state loss this spring when they head to Lexington, which will be her new home just a few years from now.
