Southern Paws Animal Rescue celebrates 2 years

LOGAN COUNTY, Ky. – Southern Paws and the Logan County Animal Shelter are coming together to celebrate two years of service. Southern Paws is hosting a fundraiser with a car wash, bounce houses and so much more.

The staff tell us this is more than a fundraiser- it’s a chance for the community to come together and support vulnerable animals.

Aric Tousignant, the director of the Logan County Animal Shelter, says, “All the hard work that we do and everything is for the animals. Right. So that’s, at the end of the day, you know, everything we do is to better the lives of the animals and try to get their forever homes.”

While adoption is an option, Southern Paws also wants to unite the community through service.

Kali Remington, the president of Southern Paws, tells us, “I think it’s really important because where we really like to all work together to kind of form a community, and we have kind of done that here in Logan County. We have, like, very similar familiar faces that come out to all of our events. It is especially important to work with the dog shelter because we don’t have the capability to take in dogs at the moment. So we, it’s really important so we can help dogs as well by working with them. And kind of doing events together.”

The celebration will take place on May 30 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1230 Morgantown Road in Russellville.
