SoKY’s Choice: Farm-to-Table Dinner supports HOTEL Inc. mission to minimize homelessness

SMITHS GROVE, Ky. (WNKY) – Fresh ingredients and community support came together Saturday night as HOTEL Inc. hosted its annual Farm-to-Table Dinner fundraiser.

Held at Tayvin Gardens, the event featured a meal made almost entirely from locally sourced products, highlighting farmers, producers, and culinary talent from across the region.

Organizers say the dinner serves a dual purpose, raising money while also reinforcing the nonprofit’s broader mission.

“So our farm-to-table dinner tonight is a fundraiser first and foremost for Hotel Inc. and our mission to help end homelessness in our community while focusing on housing, health and community so that all our neighbors can flourish and thrive,” said Executive Director Karen Foley.

That mission includes expanding access to fresh, healthy food—an effort tied closely to the organization’s work in community health and sustainability.

By sourcing ingredients locally, the event also supports area farmers and keeps resources within the local economy.

“It represents bringing farm to table… and then also supporting local farms. And then we keep that money locally in the economy,” said Gregory Byrd, manager of the Delafield Co-op Market.

Organizers say the strong turnout reflects growing community interest, not only in local food, but in supporting efforts to address homelessness in Bowling Green.

Proceeds from the event will go toward HOTEL Inc.’s programs focused on housing assistance, health initiatives, and building stronger community connections.
