SKYCTC hosts Student Life Showcase
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Many schools across the south-central Kentucky region are entering their second and third weeks of school, and school clubs are now looking for new members.
SKYCTC hosted its student life showcase on Wednesday. Thirteen school-based organizations and outside groups gathered inside of the ‘L’ building on the campus of SKYCTC to allow students the opportunity to check out different groups, interests and even earn some free lunch.
However, one faculty member tells News 40 that student organizations play a much more critical role than just a fun opportunity on campus.
David Travis, the associate vice president of student affairs at SKYCTC, says that retention rates among students that are a part of clubs and organizations are higher than students who are not involved in any groups.
Travis says SKYCTC will have more student group opportunities throughout the year, and if any students wish to create a new group, they can contact him.
