SKYCTC awards local teacher
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – At 8:15 on the morning of April 12 at Bowling Green High School, SKYCTC awarded Melanie Morrison the Pathfinder Award.
The Pathfinder Award is an award created by the Kentucky Community & Technical College system to recognize high school teachers and counselors that stand out in helping students decide on post-secondary education at one of the 17 community colleges around the state. This year, SKYCTC awarded Melanie Morrison for her efforts in assisting graduating seniors getting into college.
In a statement nominating her, it’s said that she sends out reminders weekly to students and parents on progress made toward reaching higher education, helping them to be aware of financial opportunities out there and the academic benefits ahead of them.
Next month in May, the state’s overall Pathfinder Award recipient will be named. Every region that KCTC covers has a winner named, who are then vetted for the overall winner.
Best of luck to our local counselor, Melanie Morrison!
