Simpson County deputies searching for missing man after vehicle found submerged in flood water

FRANKLIN, Ky.- The Simpson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the disappearance of a man from Tennessee.

According to deputies, on Tuesday morning, the law enforcement agency received a call of a vehicle submerged in flood water.

After towing the vehicle out, it was discovered that the vehicle belongs to Durrone Vernon Moore of Gallatin, Tenn.

No one was in the vehicle at the time of its recovery.

Authorities say Moore’s girlfriend received a distressed call from Moore on March 4 at 9:23 p.m.

She stated that Moore was screaming and was trapped in a river somewhere and could not get out.

Sprint attempted to ping his phone, but could not locate it.

Multiple searches have been made in the water and the surrounding area for Moore.
