KSP Shop with a Trooper helps fulfill Christmas wishes

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – At the Meijer store in Bowling Green, Kentucky State Police from Post 3 shopped with kids for the holiday season.

KSP trooper Daniel Priddy told News 40 there were about 50 kids and 19 families shopping with them on the night of Dec. 8.

Priddy told us that many of the kids are not just randomly picked but are kids they’ve come across in their service.

“They may have been victims of a crime, witnessed a crime, lost a loved one… and we try to keep that in mind when it comes to shop with a trooper time,” he said.

Speaking with Tracey Sharber, an administrative specialist with the KSP, she shined light on how some kids can really be going without.

Sharber said that “Literally, one kid asked me if they could buy a toothbrush, and I almost burst into tears. I was like yes honey of course you can buy a toothbrush.”

Both Sharber and Priddy said none of their events would be possible without community donations and support.
