Sheriff’s office holds informational forum
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Warren County Sheriff’s Office began its first forum Monday night showing citizens how law enforcement officers do their jobs.
To find out firsthand what a law enforcement officer does, Sheriff Brett Hightower invited the public to the Warren County Courthouse to learn about his office.
Attendees got to learn about equipment like Tasers, and see the Sheriff’s Office’s K-9 Kilo, in action.
The goal of the demonstrations was to break some of the misconceptions involving law enforcement and to encourage community involvement within the department.
“It is very interesting to see what all they have to go through. From what they wear equipment wise to the training they go through. Tonight, we are finding out about the K-9 department as well, which is very interesting to anyone who’s an animal lover to see how these dogs work so hard and their trainers with them as well,” said Bailey Brooks, an attendee.
These two-day forums will be held multiple times per year.
