Shaun Stice speaks about becoming new principal of Oakland Elementary
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A veteran of Edmonson County Schools has accepted a position in Warren County.
Superintendent Rob Clayton announced Wednesday that Shaun Stice would be the new principal of Oakland Elementary.
Clayton cited Stice’s accomplishments as the principal of Kyrock Elementary over the last seven years, including building a positive school culture as well as the school ranking 12th out of 701 of the Kentucky Summative Assessment.
Stice says, “The principal is there to provide an environment of safety, to ensure that the instruction is top of the line for the students. You know, and like I said, ultimately providing a service to the community, I feel like that, that’s what the school is all about is providing a service of educating the children of the community.”
Stice taught math at Edmonson County High School and Edmonson County Middle School before becoming a principal of Kyrock.
He said he is sad to be leaving Edmonson County Schools but looks forward to the new challenge of carrying on the traditions of Oakland Elementary and leading it to new heights.
