TODD COUNTY, Ky. – Three men incarcerated at the Todd County Detention Center have additional charges after authorities say an Indiana woman attempted to help smuggle drugs into the jail.

The Elkton Police Department says it has charged Zachary Dean, 34, of Louisville, Marshay Thomas, 30, of Louisville and Paul Stokley, 34, of Lexington with complicity to second-degree trafficking in controlled substance, first offense, complicity to trafficking in controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school and first-degree complicity to promoting contraband.

On Oct. 20, Amber Smith, 39 of Greenville, Indiana, allegedly drove a vehicle into the parking lot of Todd County Dispatch and pulled into a garage used for inmate work details for the Todd County Detention Center.

Police say Smith placed a large amount of Suboxone pills behind a trash can.

Elkton police say the pills were dropped at the location to be introduced into the Todd County Detention Center.

Smith is charged with second-degree trafficking in controlled substance, trafficking controlled substances within 1,000 feet of a school and first-degree promoting contraband.

Police say they were assisted by the Todd County Sheriff’s Office, the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force and the Todd County Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
