Senator Mitch McConnell stops in Bowling Green, unveils new book in November
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – It’s not a book of his own writing but one about him and his career.
Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell visited Western Kentucky University on Tuesday for an event in his honor and a walk down memory lane.
Community leaders sat in the Harbaugh Club at WKU for a light lunch, followed by McConnell and former Bowling Green mayor Johnny Webb sitting near each other podcast style as the audience listened to McConnell recall his early days in politics.
News 40 spoke to McConnell about some things he referenced during the event, that being his stance on foreign aid.
McConnell said much of the U.S. is benefitting from our efforts to support Ukraine and that weaponry being sent overseas is older than what the military currently boasts and that he feels the same as former President Ronald Reagan, the best path to peace is a display of strength and we should always help our allies.
