Self Defense classes from Franklin Police Department
FRANKLIN, Ky. – It’s the first of many, the department saying that they’re taking community involvement into overdrive now that they have a new facility.
Franklin Police Department’s pilot class on self defense was aimed at local girls who just graduated high school. The department said they wanted that demographic to be first being that they’ll be walking a new path post graduation. Franklin Police Department’s chief, Roger Soloman said they plan to do more and will ask the public via Facebook poll for next ideas.
Major John Thompson said he’s passionate about teaching these kinds of classes, he said they’re extremely important and hopes that the girls take away some lessons from the class to keep them on their toes.
