Seasonal spring allergies sprout

BOWLING GREEN, KY.- The seasons are always changing, and it’s common for different pollen to pop up creating many problems for people with allergies. There are three different types of seasonal allergies summer fall and spring and three different major pollen that come with the change in seasons.

From trees in the spring grass in the summer to ragweed in the fall, there are several kinds of pollen that you’d want to stay away from, but it’s highly recommended by doctors that you are tested by your doctor to guarantee that you are allergic.

Beth Miller allergy division Chief, at University of Kentucky tells us practical steps that people can do daily if they are struggling with allergies. Miller says, “Avoidance is step one, and I think it’s important to know what you’re allergic to so you know what to avoid. And I have people that come in and think they have an allergy and they don’t, and so that’s important too because then you can look for what is the underlying cause of other symptoms.”

Experts say it can take two years for people to see symptoms of seasonal allergies, and it’s best to be tested by your doctor.
