Scottsville woman remains missing nearly 25 years later

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – News 40 is learning about one Scottsville woman who has been missing for nearly 25 years.

According to the Charley Project, 23-year-old Peggy Sue Ashley Vinson was last seen on July 29, 2000 in Scottsville.

Vinson was at the Scottsville Police Department to file a police report after she was allegedly assaulted with a deadly weapon by her boyfriend at the time.

However, the man did have an alibi at the time of her disappearance.

Vinson was then seen in the passenger seat of Calvin Smith, who is a person of interest in the case but currently has little evidence against him.
