Scottsville woman among those indicted in child rape

TROUSDALE COUNTY, Tenn. – A Scottsville woman and a Tennessee man are indicted on charges connected to a reported child rape case.

According to a release by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, on Monday, the Trousdale County Grand Jury returned indictments charging 30-year-old Nikki Wix of Scottsville with two counts of rape of a child, two counts of especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, one count of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor and two counts of criminal responsibility for rape of a child.

The indictments also charge 31-year-old Cody Belcher of Only, Tennessee with three counts of rape of a child and one count of especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.

In April, TBI states agents began investigating allegations that a minor had been sexually assaulted.

During the investigation, the release says agents learned that Wix and Belcher “sexually assaulted a child multiple times in 2020 and 2021, made inappropriate recordings of that child and then distributed those recordings.”

Belcher was booked Wednesday into the Trousdale County Jail on a $300,000 bond. Authorities say Wix was arrested in Kentucky and is awaiting extradition to Trousdale County, where she will also be booked on a $300,000 bond.

Jail records indicate Wix is currently lodged at the Barren County Detention Center.
