Scottsville man charged after wreck with juvenile passenger

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – A Scottsville man is facing multiple charges after a weekend wreck.
According to a release by the Scottsville Police Department, officers were dispatched to ESB Drive for a non-injury wreck Sunday at 11:04 a.m.
Police say the driver was identified as James G. Martin, 21, of Scottsville, along with a juvenile passenger that was in the vehicle during the wreck.
During an investigation, police say a strong odor of marijuana was coming from Martin’s vehicle, and they were given consent to search.
Police say they located multiple items consistent with drug trafficking.
Martin also stated he had smoked marijuana before the wreck, according to police.
After field sobriety tests, Martin was arrested and transported to the Allen County Detention Center.
He is charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a substance, first offense (aggravated circumstances), trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 ounces), first offense, and second-degree wanton endangerment.
