Schools across the state honor the Life of Belfry Middle School student

GLASGOW, Ky.- Schools across the Commonwealth are showing their support for a middle school student-athlete who passed away recently.

Noah Cross, a 14-year-old from Belfry, Kentucky died after a battle with meningitis. He played sports in Belfry, but schools across the state are lighting up their stadiums this week to show support.

His father, Jason Cross, is a graduate of Barren County High School, and the Trojans added Cross’s number, 42, to the stadium scoreboard and lit up the field.

Director of pupil personnel for Barren County Schools, Anthony Frazier, says, “Barren County school system, we’re here to support graduates that are coming this year, students that are here now, and former graduates. So, any small thing in a time of a tragedy or need we can do, you know that’s what we’re here for.”

Funeral services will be held this Friday in the Belfry County High School Gymnasium at 11 a.m.
