Ryan Wideman named to Golden Spikes Midseason Watchlist
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU baseball’s Ryan Wideman continues to make headlines for the Tops, this time for being named to the 2025 Golden Spikes Midseason Watchlist.
Every year, USA Baseball honors the top 45 players in the nation midway through the season, with one of these players being presented the Golden Spikes Award at the end of the season.
Wideman is the first Hilltopper to be named to the list since OF Jake Sanford in 2019, who went on to be the New York Yankees 27th pick in the third round of the 2019 MLB Draft.
The junior transfer from Georgia Highlands has excelled on the diamond since coming to the Hill and is currently leading Conference USA in batting average (.455), hits (55), triples (5), total bases (95) and steals (25).
Wideman is one of just two CUSA players to be named to the watchlist, with the other being junior Grant Jay from Dallas Baptist.
