Robert E. Spiller Center to open in the new year

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Bowling Green is home to a large veteran population, and is opening a new VA center to help better take care of our aging vets.

The Robert E. Spiller VA center will soon be open, and will be a beacon of help to not just veterans in Bowling Green and Warren County, but all of South Central Kentucky, and while ground breaking happened just a few short years ago, this new center has been years and even decades in the making.

Many community leaders have had their hand in helping the center develop over the years. All of the hard work just to make sure our veterans are getting the care that they deserve.

“What you have is a lot of veterans in the area. I mean, there’s two military bases not far from here. Then just because Bowling Green and Warren County are a great place to live, you’ve had other military personnel come to live here. And so this skilled nursing facility, you know, is frankly long overdue. And so the excitement for it is just huge. And the number of veterans that will need it are large and growing” said Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Ron Bunch.

Construction on the 80,000 square foot facility is projected to be completed in January of 2025 with the first vets being admitted sometime during the spring time.
