River to be dyed green at Lost River Cave

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Lost River Cave is dyeing its river green ahead of St. Patrick’s Day.

Off of Nashville Road, the Go with the Flow: Dye Tracing event will include a 15-minute hike, activities and a live dye tracing demonstration at the river.

In a Facebook post by Crawford Hydrology Laboratory, the group says it uses eco-friendly dye to color the river, educating the public on how dye tracing informs “the study and management of precious groundwater resources.”

The event starts Friday, March 15 and lasts from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. According to the event page, only a total of 30 spots can be booked. The fun continues this weekend with an underground boat tour along the newly-dyed river.

The event is open to those 8 years old and above. Tickets cost $5 and can be booked here. For information on the event, click here.
