Ride of Silence remembers injured, killed cyclists

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – On Wednesday, May 21 in Circus Square Park, cyclists will gather to remember fellow cyclists who may no longer be with us.

The “Ride of Silence” is a national event in honor of those who have been injured or killed while biking on public roadways. The ride will begin at 7 p.m. and only span 5 miles around the city, which is meant to be carried out in silence.

“The ride is an important event for both those who have passed and those who still live on to further educate the public on the importance of remaining vigilant on the road, whether you use a bike or car,” says Diane Moats, president of the Bowling Green League of Bicyclists, who is organizing the event.
