Red Cross offering free smoke alarm installation to promote safety

EDMONSON COUNTY, Ky. – In partnership with the Bank of Edmonson County, the American Red Cross will be installing free smoke alarms this Friday and Saturday within Edmonson County households that have signed up for a free installation.

Along with the installations they will also be creating escape plans for families. Nationwide they have installed 50,000 fire alarms and created 10,048 escape plans for households.

“So Since this program has started, there have been ninety-four lives saved in the state of Kentucky. Which is a great impact you know, to think of the tragedy that could have been. So being able to get in to go over the education piece, they are free alarms. The mission of this program is to make sure that the alarm wakes you up.”
