Public Theatre of Kentucky in need of new lights
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A local theatre that has served the community for three decades is now in danger of canceling a whole season and needs your help.
The Public Theatre of Kentucky is in grave need for new lights and sound systems. These systems can cost well over $10,000, and the theatre needs your help in raising the funds to continue the season. The lights especially have gotten so bad they have had to cancel previous shows this season.
One PTK rep says they just want to keep the shows alive this season.
“We have been here for over three decades, and I’d really like to keep that going. And we really can’t keep going without new lighting and new sound. And it would be very unfortunate to have to cancel an entire season for something that we hopefully can’t get replaced,” said PTK’s producing artistic director Amber Turner.
Lighting is a very important aspect to live performances, adding emotion, setting and being a character in the show itself. Turner says they are still using an old analog lighting board that is many years old.
