Power outages and upcoming hot weather tips
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – On top of the storm damage that has hit the area, power outages have been prevalent as well.
Warren RECC reports roughly 7,600 outages, which they plan to fix by the end of Wednesday.
They’ve already restored power to over 21,000 members, and they are currently working on single lines, roads and neighborhoods, as well as individual houses.
However, with the temperatures heating up, if you still remain without power, make sure to stay in the shade and hydrated.
“Stay hydrated… if they have a generator, absolutely run the generator. If they don’t and they need one, there’s some sort of a medical necessity or something like that. I always recommend reaching out to your local emergency management. They can help you with things like that,” Kim Phelps of Warren RECC says.
They also recommend avoiding work areas and downed power lines to keep everyone as safe as possible.
