Potter Gray Elementary hosts ‘Mini Mall’ for students to practice business
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – On Friday, a few young entrepreneurs had their grand opening.
Potter Gray Elementary fifth graders created their own mini mall, and students, staff and community members brought $5 to spend at the miniature mall to help teach valuable life skills.
Fifth grade teacher Cathy Flora says, “It’s important for them to understand how much things cost and then what they need to do to earn that money back, and then, you know, turn around and have a profit. And then we are going to let them plan their end of the year party with their profits. So it has a real purpose.”
This educational opportunity impacted many young lives, and when they begin to shop and open businesses in the real world, they will be more than prepared.
