Portion of intersection being investigated for possible sinkhole

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A possible sinkhole was reported Thursday afternoon on Campbell Lane between Scottsville Road and Gary Farms Boulevard.

Shortly before 2 p.m., Bowling Green Police Department public information officer Ronnie Ward confirmed officers were at the scene.

The incident was turned over to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

Wes Watt with KYTC says a hole opened up by the sidewalk near the Greenwood Park Church of Christ.

The transportation cabinet is investigating this as a possible sinkhole, but there has been no confirmation on what exactly it is.

Watt says crews are there now to evaluate the situation. Once they determine an answer, they can begin work on getting it repaired, Watt says.
