Police: Tennessee man charged after driving wrong way in Allen County

ALLEN COUNTY, Ky. – A Tennessee man is facing multiple charges after police say he drove on the wrong side of the road while crossing from Warren County into Allen County.
The Scottsville Police Department says dispatch received calls Sunday about a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction and nearly causing head-on collisions on Veterans Memorial Highway.
Police say they saw the vehicle, driven by Ethan S. Swanson, 21, of Gallatin, Tennessee, speeding on the wrong side near the intersection of Veterans Memorial Highway and Burnley Road, causing officers to move to avoid a head-on collision.
The vehicle continued before running a red light at U.S. 231 and U.S. 31 East, authorities say.
When the vehicle stopped, police say they approached the vehicle and could smell alcohol.
Swanson was arrested. He faces charges of first-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle), first-degree operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or a substance (aggravating circumstances), improperly on left side of road, reckless driving, speeding 26 mph or greater over the speed limit, first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, disregarding a traffic control device (traffic light) and resisting arrest.
Swanson was taken to the Allen County Detention Center.
