Police chase in Lexington results in arrest after car allegedly driven into house

LEXINGTON, Ky. – One woman is in custody after police say she allegedly drove a car into a home and then led police on a chase.
The Lexington Police Department says it responded to a home for a domestic violence incident involving a weapon Tuesday.
Upon arrival, police say they discovered the victim had fled the area.
Officers were later dispatched again to the same residence after police say the driver tried to hit someone before driving into a house.
Police say the driver refused to leave the vehicle before she backed into a police cruiser and accelerating forward, when police say she almost struck several Lexington firefighters.
Lexington police say one of their officers fired their weapon in response to the incident, striking the driver.
Police say the driver led law enforcement on a chase through parts of Fayette and Scott counties and came to a stop in Coldstream Park.
The LPD says their crisis negotiation unit was eventually able to convince the driver to exit the vehicle. Police say the driver was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A citation confirms a woman identified as Lasielle White has been arrested following the chase.
She faces charges of attempted murder, first-degree fleeing or evading police in a motor vehicle, first-degree criminal mischief, and first-degree wanton endangerment.
Lexington police say the incident is under investigation by the Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team. As part of policy, police say the officer will be placed on administrative assignment pending the outcome of the investigation.
