Police: Accused Pipe Bomber “Wanted Revenge”

Florida man accused of leaving explosives outside of family's home after being evicted from their barn. WESH's Bob Hazen reports.

LAKE MARY, Fla. (WESH/NBC News) — A Florida man has been accused of targeting a Lake Mary home with explosives.

Homeowners made the disturbing discovery last month.

Police said a pipe bomb was placed about 30 feet from their house. Officer said they quickly realized it was an explosive but it didn’t have a mechanism to set it off.

Authorities said Joseph Palaia was suspected of placing the pipe bomb. The homeowners told authorities that Palaia lived in their barn before he was kicked out last February.
