Person reported missing identified in fatal crash in Laurel County

LONDON, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police says a man who had been reported missing was killed Sunday in a fatal wreck in Laurel County.

Troopers say they were notified that evening by Laurel County 911 of a single-vehicle fatal collision on McWhorter Road.

According to authorities, a 2003 Suzuki GSX-R600 driven by 21-year-old Trevor R. Waskom of London, Kentucky was traveling on McWhorter Road when Waskom lost control of his vehicle and hit a tree.

Waskom died on the scene due to his injuries, authorities say. He was pronounced dead by the Laurel County Coroner’s Office.

Family reported him missing on April 26, troopers say.

The investigation is ongoing.
