Pair of 2026 Hot Rods selected for MLB All-Star Futures Game

PHILADELPHIA – Bowling Green Hot Rod fans can catch a pair of this season’s top contributors on the big stage when 2026 All-Star Weekend rolls around in the city of brotherly love.

Major League Baseball announced the rosters for the 2026 All-Star Futures Game on Wednesday morning, featuring the two top prospects in the Tampa Bay Rays organization.

Outfielder Theo Gillen (No. 1 prospect) and catcher Nathan Flewelling (No. 2 prospect) are set to hit the dirt at Citizens Bank Park following their selections.

Gillen, who recently was promoted to Double-A Montgomery, started the year in Bowling Green.

He was the Hot Rods top bat and top base stealer, slashing .342/.449/.589 and grabbing 28 stolen bases in his 57 games with the team.

Flewelling, still with the Hot Rods, has also been a steady force in the lineup for manager Rafael Valenzuela Jr.

The backstop has shown a consistent ability to get on base and even drive in others already there.

He currently is top three in hits, home runs and RBI with BG.

You can catch the star-studded duo in action on Sunday, July 12, with live coverage of the futures game on NBC starting at noon ET.
