Paige named next head coach for Lady Dragon hoops
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Summer may have just begun, but it’s never too early to look ahead to basketball season coming this winter, and one local girls squad named its next head coach just over the weekend.
Timothy Paige, a former 4th Region basketball champion with the Warren Central Dragons, is returning to his home to take the reins of the Lady Dragons program.
Paige has spent recent years coaching middle school boys’ teams at South Warren Middle School and Henry F. Moss Middle School and now is excited to take his first girls coaching role at the high school level.
Warren Central saw some struggles this past season going 0-17, but Paige is excited for the opportunity to grow and develop the Lady Dragons from the ground up and he shared an early look at how his team will compete when hitting the court.
“ We’re going to get after you, we’re going to play hard, and we’re going to let the chips fall wherever they fall. Effort is all we ask,” said Paige. “It’s a lot of rich history, even with women’s basketball here. They won state championship here before, so if I’m not mistaken, [Warren Central] might be the only school that’s won boys and girls state championships. Tradition is rich, so, five years from now, we just want to return it back to that.”
