Open jobs and demand report released for south-central Kentucky

SOUTH-CENTRAL KENTUCKY – The South Central Kentucky Open Jobs and Demand Report has been released for April.

According to the release, at the end of every month, the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce used data from Chmura Economics to show a report of the current and future demand for the 10-county workforce.

On April 24, the report stated there were 6,445 openings within the region.

This includes Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Metcalfe, Monroe, Simpson and Warren counties.

The estimated 10-year demand for jobs in these counties altogether is 168,933, according to the report.

The report further states the the top job posting includes heavy and tractor-trailer truck drivers and registered nursing, each at 407 and 324 postings respectively.

In the next 10 years, the report states the region will need over 3,800 entry-level manufacturing workers and 1,676 registered nurses.
