Officials order government flags to half-staff within Warren Co. to honor trooper

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Warren County Judge-Executive Doug Gorman and Mayor Todd Alcott with the City of Bowling Green are ordering flags in the area to half-staff on Tuesday in honor of Trooper Hayden Phillips.

According to the city on Tuesday, Sept. 29, the order is meant to honor Phillips’ service and sacrifice after his death in the line of duty on Monday in Warren County.

The city says the order includes all flags at Warren County and Bowling Green government buildings.

The city further stated, “We value and honor the duty and sacrifice of our law enforcement officers. We offer our deepest condolences and prayers to the family of Kentucky State Police Trooper Hayden Phillips, who was shot and killed in the line of duty on Monday, September 28, 2026 — especially to his loving wife and three children. May he rest in peace, and may his family find strength and comfort in the days ahead.”
