Nolin Lake Estates sees massive damage from recent storms
GRAYSON COUNTY, Ky. – Recently, we told you about what Grayson County has been seeing as far as storm damage, but some of the worst of it is in one neighborhood.
Nolin Lake Estates are a group of homes by the lake, and they’ve seen some serious structural damage due to the ground becoming soft.
Homes like the ones you see above have had beams snap, roads have been shifted, and even driveways have been shifted up due to the recent floods.
A neighbor we spoke to says he’s lucky his property was not one of the ones that saw major damage.
“No, no, I’m closer to the lake down below and we’re not really on a shelf like some of these people are… and they’re right on the… just dirt and no trees to really hold the dirt back. So it’s been kind of a shock,” Robert LeRoux says.
One of the homes in the area is a complete loss, and with some of them being summer homes, residents may not even know they’ve lost everything.
Robert says he hopes FEMA is able to cover these losses for his neighbors.
